After posting the changes in our living room yesterday, I wondered if Ikea's UNG Drill (which was in my wishlist) will suit the blank wall directly above the sofa. Then today I stumbled upon these images (simply lovely!) and it gave me some idea on the size ; as the measurements obtained from the ikea site seemed quite large.

Living room - current state (still WIP)
Bought the brown pillow case on Sunday 14th for less than 2 euros! The table candle holder was I think less than 2 euros as well. Also added bamboo blinds (on top of venetian blinds) to block out sunlight. With these minor changes, I feel the room is calmer and looks more pulled together... am quite pleased :)
Why am I always showing this side of the wall? well, the rest of the room is still not ready. We still need to finalised ...
1) the side board or to get a tv cabinet.
2) an art or mirror above the sofa.
3) Get more curtains ...

Inspiration - wall treatment
Right now the living and bedroom walls are wallpapered.....with the 80's style embossed design! I could imaging removing it would take huge effort but that is the least of my worries. From what I could tell, the walla seemed un-even and un-finished. Probably that's one of the reasons the previous owner had chosen the textured wall paper.
I'm thinking if the walls are not finished after removing the wallpaper, maybe we could consider the brick wall option. I quite like how the brick wall add character to the room above.
Until I find the courage to peel off those paper, I'll just keep this in the inspiration pile.

Inspirations - window
Although it's officially summer, the weather is still nice and cool which I prefer. Our flat can get quite warm in the summer months. So, to block out the sun as much as possible I need a simple and cheap solution. I think the window treatment above is what I shall try to copy!
