Decorating - vases

I plan to get a tall vase for the living room, just haven't found one that I like that is not too expensive! This glass vase as seen above have been appearing around stores here ..though the style suits our living room, it just too fragile for our household (I am very clumsy). But in this setting I might change my mind and just get one :)

I am liking...

source : Ontarioo Beach House appeared on Apartment Therapy

Our home (a flat) is located far from the beach. It is those flats which were built during the 60-70s era. So, just boxes of rooms without any achitectural interests. However, I've always been attracted to beach houses .. what to do?

After reading Chris' story (owner of above house) , I am truly inspired!. Perhaps I'll start by adding beadboards and slowly purchase beach house inspired furniture pieces - an expensive range in this part of the world! BUT I think it is possible to achieve this look :)

Inspirations - hallway

Oh, I would like to indulge and recreate such a seating at the hall way; because we do have a tini shelfing system as big as this room for our detergents, cleaning tools , shoes etc
But practically it make more sense to convert our mini storage to function as the following photo shows, so that our winter jackets are more orderly and not hung behing our front door.

Side notes
Dimension of closet : 60D x 60W x 157H cm , Door 52.5W x 144H cm

What's stored there currently? Shoes, tools, umbrellas, detergents

Where should the current storage be moved to ?
-- remove shoes from closet once I found a suitable shoe-cabinet
-- remove detergents , place in sealed box and relocate to upper storage..not the best solution but temporarily it should be fine
